Learnt about how writing could be done in the industry, how it works. At first, I was worried because in all the advice I was given, having a working experience was everything for a fresh grad and for someone who has none I was worried at where I would end up after graduation. But after the lecture I feel more positive regarding my position in the future, sure I might need more pieces in my portfolio but it gave me a little more hope regarding my future. The lecture was also interesting in the many job aspects that I could do with my degree, the content specialist and even being a comic book writer is apparently open for someone with my major. It really surprised me how vast the writing industry is as I thought it was mere article writing and promotional content but now it is so much more. Learnt that people in any industry will always need a writer to write content for them, so maybe I am not so hopeless after all in the end.

• There is a larger market for writing careers in Malaysia than originally thought

• But it is not easy, even if all you need is a writing portfolio, the work has to be there, there is a need of a consistency in terms of work produce

• Not sure at what would my target audience be but depends on the type of writing I might pursue

• Need to find a different way of writing compared to the university style of writing, to branch out at different styles and genres to see which would stick
